Pro Tools 12.8.3 co-install with Pro Tools 10.x is not supported using Mac OS X (as 12.8.3 isn't supported on Mac OS 10.8.5) use Pro Tools 12.4 or lower for co-install with Pro Tools 10.x. It has driven business away from them and have forced some studios to close down.Īlthough it is convenient to have a tool like this, especially now since Avid is planning to release a version for free, it has hurt the music industry in a way. Music studios such as Sound City have been greatly hurt by this kind of technology.
That brings again the question of how technology has greatly influenced music and how more and more musicians are able to not only replace musical instruments with technology but also record and mix their own music and albums at home leaving sound producers and studios out of jobs. Pro Tools First will be completely free and have all the necessary equipment for musicians to create their own music which means that more musicians will be wanting take care of everything on their own than have someone else be put to the task.
Avid is planning to release a version of Pro Tools, the software used by thousands of musicians to edit, mix, record, and compose music, for free to beginners.
